The Art of Listening

What does it mean to listen? When you speak do you feel heard? Can you hear your own, deep source of wisdom and knowing? Are the external voices in your life so prevalent that you can’t hear yourself? Or are the voices inside your head so loud that you can’t hear the quiet whispers of your soul? True listening is an art that most of us haven’t learned in our families and other environments. If you are fortunate, you have had healthy models in your life. Listening requires us to slow down and become present to our surroundings. It means investigating and noticing what your patterns are that inhibit your ability to listen. Listening is one hand of the art of communication, equally as important to how you speak. As a life coach, the roots of my practice are based in the art of listening.
